The champion sprinter teamed up with Hublot to produce two limited edition timepieces ahead of the Rio Olympics.
As of this morning (Australian time), Jamaican superman Usain Bolt is now a nine-time Olympic gold medallist, Rio becoming his third triple gold Olympics. Which will probably make these Hublot Big Bang Unico pieces – an all-gold one and an all-black one – even more collectible.
Produced before the Games began, and featured on mensstyle.com.au, the pieces present in the 45mm Big Bang case, with the seconds hand of its flyback chronograph movement shaped like a lightning bolt. The design is tinged with green and gold and the strap is marked with the silhouette of the Jamaican flag, paying homage to Bolt’s origins. On the sapphire case back that reveals the UNICO manufacture movement, the silhouette of “Lightning Bolt” displays his emblematic victory sign.
Bolt has been an ambassador for Hublot since 2010. The limited editions below are the Gold for the Big Bang Unico Usain Bolt (left) – case and bezel in 3N 18k yellow gold, gold shiny strap in calfskin sewn onto rubber. Limited to 100 pieces. And the All Black version (right) in the Jamaican’s lively colours. Limited to 250 pieces cut in ceramic.
