The original Kickstarter smartwatch is breaking more records…
Just yesterday, Pebble Technology, which pioneered smartwatches back in 2012, launched its new Kickstarter for three new-generation Pebble devices.
It asked for $US1m. Less than 24 hours later it’s racked up more than $US6m, with a whopping 36 days to go.
The company’s new devices will emphasise health and fitness features.
The Pebble Core, priced at $US69, is 3G enabled and designed to let runners leave their phones at home while they still track distance and pace, stream Spotify and send SOS alerts.
The Pebble 2 ($US99), meanwhile, is an upgrade of the Pebble smartwatch, adding in sleep monitoring and heart-rate tracking.
Pebble Time 2 ($US169) updates last year’s Pebble Time with a larger, hi-res screen and heart-rate monitor.
If you want to get in on the discounts, sprint don’t walk to Kickstarter, to join the 32,000 other backers already on board.
The new-gen Pebble products ship from September.
