Garmin releases three new upmarket pieces in a collection called Fenix Chronos.
One of the leaders in smartwatch and fitness tracking devices, Garmin has entered an interesting new space in the growing market, releasing three premium versions in its popular fēnix ‘multisport’ family.
The fēnix Chronos pieces comprises one in titanium with brushed titanium band; steel with brushed stainless steel band; and steel with vintage leather band. The watches are designed to help the wearer transfer from activity such as fitness training in the day through to a dressier event in the evening.
The premium titanium version features a unique brushed titanium band with individually brushed forged titanium links and black elastomer inner links making it strong but also lightweight and comfortable to wear. The steel version has solid 316L stainless steel links handbrushed to ensure a smooth, consistent texture, while this version is also available with a vintage-style leather band featuring handsewn contrast stitching and a nubuck inner lining. There’s also the option of an interchangeable silicone sport band for all versions.
Water resistant to 100m, the Chronos pieces feature a 1.2-inch Chroma Display on the dial with with LED backlighting for great visibility in all conditions, even in direct sunlight. Daily activity tracking technology means users can monitor the number of steps taken, calories burned, stairs climbed, and quality of rest at night with the sleep mode. Garmin Elevate wrist heart rate technology is also included.
Via the Connect IQ store in the Garmin Connect mobile app, users can download any of the free apps, widgets, watch faces and data fields to suit their individual needs. Users can also create custom watch faces using their own photos with the new FaceIt app. Pair the watch with a compatible phone to receive incoming call, text, email and other alerts right on their watch.
The new range is priced between $1,299-$1,999.
