Geneva-based Czapek & Cie has combined the vintage art of high-end watchmaking with the 21st century crowdfunding model.
In 2015, three watch lovers launched Czapek & Cie, seeking to create a fine watchmaking brand that utilised the phenomenon of crowdfunding to raise equity.
A year later the brand continues its new-school approach with a subscription campaign for those who’d like to own one of the 188 pieces in its “Quai des Bergues” line. Haute horlogerie for the masses.
The “Millesime 2016” Quai des Bergues collection will be made available to subscribers placing an order on the Czapek website or through official dealers. Each watch will be manufactured individually. Subscribers will be able to choose the number to be inscribed on the case back as well as other features.
“It’s incredible to think that you actually can be an owner of the brand and participate in the creation of the models. It’s unique in our industry,” said one of the founders, Xavier de Roquemaurel.
