Lexus LC 500 Launch at Jackalope

Categories Motoring

Men’s Style recently attended the Australian launch of Lexus’ new flagship coupe, LC 500, at the award-winning boutique hotel Jackalope on Victoria’s Mornington Peninsula.

Recently named Australia’s Best New Hotel by Gourmet Traveller, boutique stay Jackalope was the perfect backdrop to the Australian launch of Lexus’ new flagship coupe, the LC 500.

Men’s Style was one of a number of Australian media who gathered at the award-winning property to experience a drive of the new model along Victoria’s rugged Mornington Peninsula as well as sample Jackalope’s F&B offering at eatery Rare Hare, restaurant Doot Doot Doot and bar Flaggerdoot.

The LC 500’s roots are in the LF-LC concept car introduced at the 2012 Motor Show in Detroit and represents a new direction for Lexus in the areas of styling, performance, technology and luxury features.

Men’s Style drove both the 5.0-litre V8 LC 500 and hybrid-powered LC 500h models that will be available in Australia, savouring the growly engine note produced from the world’s first 10-speed transmission in a luxury car.

The sports car zip is complemented with a lux, premium Alcantara interior, a 918-watt audio system featuring 13 speakers, and the latest in driver-assist technology. The driver’s seat alone went through 50 iterations to arrive at the cockpit version installed in the LC 500.

The headlight units – claimed as “the world’s slimmest” – and vertical indicator lights are a work of art in themselves.
