The famous designer, style Tsar and sometime film director returns with a new film starring Jake Gyllenhaal and Amy Adams.
It’s been a while between cinematic drinks for Tom Ford, the man who made his reputation as a fashion designer and creative director of Gucci and Yves Saint Laurent and then surprised many by making a film, A Single Man, in 2009.
The film directing bug obviously didn’t go away because now he’s back with a new film, Nocturnal Animals, about an art gallery owner who is haunted by her ex-husband’s novel, a violent thriller she interprets as a veiled threat and a symbolic revenge tale. Jake Gyllenhaal and Amy Adams play the leads Tony and Susan in a screenplay Ford wrote based on Austin Wright’s novel, Tony and Susan.
The film recently won the Grand Jury Prize at the 73rd Venice International Film Festival. It shows in Australian cinemas from November 10.
