Trailer drops with plenty of Kanye…
Assassin’s Creed is one of the world’s biggest-selling video games and come December we’ll get to see it adapted to the cinema screen, courtesy of Aussie director Justin Kurzel, who made Snowtown and Macbeth.
Fans have this afternoon gotten their first taste of the blockbuster via the release of the first trailer.
It’s pretty good.
After setting up that our anti-hero Callum Lynch (Michael Fassbender) has just been executed, Sophie Rikkin (Marion Cotillard) of the Animus Project kinda-sorta resurrects and regresses him back to his ancestor Aguilar, a 15th century assassin kicking ass during the Spanish Inquisition.
From there it’s non-stop action, all scored to Kanye West’s I am A God.
The ominous beats and lyrics suit the frenetic fighting — apart from the fact you can’t help hearing Yeezus continuing with the lyrics “hurry up with my damn massage/hurry up with my damn ménage”.
