Ben Affleck’s next film looks like a ripper — and no, of course we’re not talking about Batman. An introverted beancounter who cooks the books for some seriously grisly criminals, Affleck raises the suspicion of government officials — so he takes on a legitimate client . . . or so he thinks until he begins to scratch the surface. Co-stars Anna Kendrick and JK Simmons.
Directed by Mel Gibson and shot in Sydney, this Australian-American war epic is based on the true story of a religious conscientious objector who saved 75 Allied lives in Japan during World War II — and became the first conscientious objector in history to receive the Medal of Honor. All star cast includes Aussies Hugo Weaving, Sam Worthington, Rachel Griffiths, Matt Nable and Richard Roxburgh.
The third film in the Da Vinci Code series, Tom Hanks reprises his role as Robert Langdon for another Dan Brown mystery, the first since 2009. Langdon wakes up with amnesia in an Italian hospital then twists his way across Europe solving riddles with beautiful sidekick Dr Sienna Brooks (Felicity Jones).

It’s not Shakespeare but there’s nothing wrong with a good ol’ fashioned action thriller. Four years after first playing vagrant ex-US Army major Jack Reacher, Tom Cruise again finds himself on the wrong side of the law, forced to expose a government conspiracy to clear himself of murder charges.
The inspirational tale of an Indian kid who was separated from his family in Calcutta aged five and winds up in a shelter where he is adopted by an Australian couple, then tries to trace his path back to his birth mother as an adult. Stars Slumdog Millionaire star Dev Patel, Hollywood A-lister Rooney Mara, and Aussies Nicole Kidman and David Wenham.
