The bizarre grooming trend you’ve likely never heard of…
The big, bushy beard might be on the way out in favour of a more contoured style — but for blokes still rocking the Ned Kelly, here’s the perfect way to add a bit of bling to your bushranger.
Italian designer Krato Milano has come up with beard jewellery: small clips that attach to your facial hair through a 9x15mm spring that secures a gold or crystal trinket to your facial follicles.
The jewellery comes in plain crystal, as well as intricate skull and anchor designs for the hirsute man striving for that kitsch goth or sailor vibe. There’s also a three-pronged crystal chain that looks likes a spider has spun a golden web through your whiskers.
Milano is flogging the jewellery line with the tag line “dare to be unique” . . . and you’d have to be pretty daring to be seen in public with something like this hanging off your face.
“Designed for an individual who wants to not only to stand out of the crowd, but also to be ahead of the crowd,” boasts the designer, targeting the unhinged exhibitionist market.
“This collection is dedicated to strong characters who express their individuality in eccentric, yet sophisticated ways. Beard is a visual display of dignity, style, and uniqueness which makes for a perfect canvas of self-expression.”
If you’ve got a man in your life whose boring beard is begging to pimped out, the items start at €31 (AU$45) and Milano is taking orders now to be shipped before Christmas.
