Got a messy mop? These A-listers prove everyone strikes out sometime.
1. Keith Urban
The country-pop crooner, judge of The Voice and hubby to Nicole Kidman looks kinda cool these days, with his shaggy tresses and tatts. But it’s been a long road from his early days as a mop-topped, gap-toothed kid doing awkward TV.
2. Tom Hiddleston
He’s now a style icon, thanks to his work in British spy thriller series The Night Manager. But you don’t have to look too far back to see Tom wasn’t always so smooth. Here he is with poodle hair as a supporting character in TV’s Wallander – from 2010.
3. Brad Pitt
The world first really went gaga for Brad back in 1994, when he took the long-haired lead in movie Legends Of The Fall. Unfortunately, Brad took his messed-up tresses out into the real world.
4. George Clooney
These days you’ll seldom see gorgeous George with anything other than his close cropped steel-grey style. But back in the early 2000s he was willing to experiment with what can only be described as a techno-disaster.
5. Johnny Depp
While Johnny is known for wigging it up for roles such as Jack Sparrow and Willy Wonka, none of those styles are as ghastly as this long dye job from a decade ago. You can almost smell the hobo gel.
6. Brad Cooper
With his winning smile and casually tousled locks, Bradley Cooper is the easy everyman, as comfortable making us laugh in The Hangover series as he is keeping us on the edge of our seats in American Sniper. But this ‘do – from 2011 – was a total miss.
7. David Beckham
Becks is recognised as one of the world’s most stylish men, and appears year in year out on best dressed list. Which we guess excuses this period when he seemed to be channelling late Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain with a straggly, dirty blonde style (or lack thereof).
