The renowned French High Jewelry Maison opens its second boutique in Australia, in the heart of Sydney’s CBD.
After opening its first Australian store on Melbourne’s Collins Street in October 2016, heritage jewellery Maison Van Cleef & Arpels now finds its way to Sydney, opening in the former site of Hermes on the corner of Castlereagh and Market streets.
The Sydney flagship is the larger boutique, housing an assortment of the Maison’s collections including icons such as Alhambra and Perlée, Between the Finger Rings, Ballerina and Fairy clips, as well as timepieces, wedding and engagement rings.
The new boutique is the first in the world to incorporate the 1906 room – an intimate story telling space showcasing historical creations from Van Cleef & Arpels’ private collection. The room’s walls, shaped after the hexagonal outline of the Place Vendôme, feature iconography from the archives which illustrate key themes in the Maison’s 110-year history.
Founded in Paris, Van Cleef & Arpels was established in 1906 following Estelle Arpels’ marriage to Alfred Van Cleef. Over the decades, the Maison has established a reputation for excellence in jewellery across the world.
