The spirit of leisure infuses Ralph Lauren Purple Label 2017 Collection just introduced in Milan.
“Perfect imperfection” is the phrase informing the latest Purple Label Collection from Ralph Lauren, a leisure theme seen throughout sportswear, haberdashery, formalwear and accessories.
Suiting is characterised by a more relaxed silhouette in sophisticated tonal color combinations and innovative garment-dyed and textured fabrics. There are separate haberdashery groups in gray, taupe and navy that mix custom-designed lightweight silk and linen blends with special touches such as basket-weave and chevron patterns for additional dimension. Modern fashion details include high-waist and wide-leg trousers, deconstructed unlined jackets with patch pockets, and versatile knitwear layers.
Rugged and rustic details feature in sportswear – air-spun cashmere and jersey sweaters, tropical-wool running shorts and water-resistant track pants. A nautical theme unites high-performance pieces such as a neoprene duffel coat with handmade leather details and an ultra-lightweight airmesh windbreaker.
Formalwear is informed by the Art Deco era, while a new collection of Purple Label accessories builds on the sportswear story via a carbon-fibre and burled-wood surfboard, neoprene espadrilles and tote, and fleece accessories inspired by performance auto seats in Ralph Lauren’s personal collection of cars.
