Few handle print and colour brights like Sir Paul Smith, as he demonstrated in his Spring Summer 2017 collection.
Confident use of colour is a Paul Smith trademark and the great British designer doesn’t disappoint in his new Spring-Summer 2017 collection, conveying messages of optimism and peace.
The influences of west London, where Paul has lived since the 1970s, inform the new collection, with 1960s tailoring references updated via super lightweight construction and highly breathable Italian wool fabrics. A contemporary edge is achieved in sportswear shapes and diverse runway casting that mirrors today’s multicultural London.
West Indian flavour comes through in familiar colour combinations of yellow, green and red, which come together to create a series of stripes – another Paul Smith hallmark – and a tropical tartan fabric that appears throughout the collection.
