Atmosphere-shot-#5

Fittingly, the Australian launch of Zadig & Voltaire’s This is Him! and This is Her! fragrances had a lot of rock ‘n’ roll about it.

Hip French fashion house Zadig & Voltaire is the creation of Thierry Gillier, paying homage both to the famous French philosopher and one of his most famous literary creations. In keeping with the revolutionary nature of Voltaire’s work, the brand’s stock-in-trade is reimagined classics like leather jackets, blazers and cashmere.

Now Zadig & Voltaire introduces his and hers fragrances into the Australian marketplace, inspired by the label’s “be yourself” mantra and with bottles created from Gillier’s love of modern art.

Men’s Style Grooming Editor Elisabeth King was among those in attendance at Sydney’s Oxford Art Factory for the Australian launch of the scents. Guests heard Zadig & Voltaire brand marketing director Giona Zen introduce the This is HIM! and This is HER fragrances before showing a black and white film which served as a homage to the rock’n’roll lifestyle starring muses Joséphine Le Tutour and Sam Lammar, and exclusive The Avener track “You Belong.”

This is HIM! is a woody, oriental scent with spicy notes of grapefruit and black pepper meet a soft heart of vanilla and incense, alongside the brand’s signature sandalwood, while This is HER! is a woody, heady floral fragrance with a bouquet of Arabian jasmine, accented with chestnut and vanilla at its core, alongside sandalwood.

Zadig & Voltaire This is HIM ! EDT RRP: 30ml $62, 50ml $77, 100ml $99; Shower Gel 200ml RRP : $37 (Department stores exclusive)
