Rio, here we come

Men’s Style attended the unveiling of the Australian Olympic team uniform for Rio 2016 this week at a picture-perfect Bondi Beach, as 11 athletes competing at this year’s Games wore the kit designed by Sportscraft, who for the seventh time are the Official Supplier of Opening Ceremony and formal uniforms for the team.

Sportscraft worked closely with the AOC, athletes, and Australian Olympic Uniform Committee for over two years to design the uniforms, resulting in sharply tailored green seersucker cotton blazers, finished with a gold embroidered coat of arms badge and burnished gold Australian Olympic coat of arms buttons. Unique lining inside the jacket carries each athlete’s name, while other key design details include the ladies silk scarf printed with the Southern Cross, beautiful 100% extra fine Australian Merino wool knits, and a green and gold knitted men’s tie.

Shoes are by TOMS, whose One for One program ensures that for every pair of the specially designed shoe purchased, a new pair of shoes is given to a child in need.
