Leading names in horse racing, fashion and sport came together today at Royal Randwick as the Australian Turf Club unveiled its ambassadors for the 2016 Sydney Spring Carnival.
TV presenter Mel McLaughlin, Australian models Megan Blake Irwin and Georgia Fowler, Miss Chinese Cosmos Pageant winner Jessica Song and Sydney’s Bearded Bakers, Ameer and Joey El-Issa were present as ambassadors at the launch of the 9-week carnival, which this year will boast almost $12 million in prize money across 23 Group races
Key days of the Carnival include City Tattersalls Club Cup Day, Cox Plate Day and McGrath Estate Agents Melbourne Cup Day, as well as Moet & Chandon Spring Champion Stakes Day at Randwick where a a new fashion competition will be launched with entrants parading for a chance to win prizes worth over $50,000.

The Sydney Spring carnival will open next Saturday, 10 September with De Bortoli Wines Golden Rose Day at Rosehill Gardens with the course unveiling its $28 million renovation.
